As a scientist, I'm interested in host-parasite interactions. More specifically, I'm interested in how different epigenetic mechanisms control gene expression in parasites and how this contributes to parasite diversity, fitness, infectivity, and transmission. Similarly, I am interested in the development of novel and more sophisticated ways to improve diagnosis and treatment of parasitic infections in the context of neglected tropical diseases.
I am also interested in science communication, and try to dedicate as much of my free time as I can to science outreach in social media, as well as in scientific magazines.
